BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH Wins Innovation Award from the Bavarian Construction Industry

Bayreuth, Germany – BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH was awarded third place at the 2026 Bavarian Construction Industry Innovation Awards, alongside STRABAG. The awards ceremony took place on April 22 in the German city of Bayreuth. Susanne Nefzger, Sales Manager for the Southern Region at Bauer Spezialtiefbau, was delighted to accept the award on behalf of the company. 

Bauer was recognized for its holistic, data-driven approach to organizational development and efficiency improvement in specialized civil engineering. To this end, BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH has introduced an international standard for the collection and analysis of key production data. Performance data from day-to-day construction site operations – including daily output, material deliveries, working hours, equipment availability, and downtime – are consolidated into a single system. Standardized project and country codes, along with clearly defined trades and SI units, ensure that this information is consistently usable, comparable, and meaningful.

A central element of the approach is the BAUER Construction Process (BCP) workflow, through which new projects are created automatically. As soon as the order is placed, all necessary digital tools – from the BAUERdigital portal and structured team environments to construction log, delivery note, and QA/QC applications – are set up, including the required permissions. This creates a fully digital construction site where actual performance is recorded daily, compared with target performance, and presented graphically.

These standardized evaluations of productivity, man-hours, and downtime enable global comparisons. At the same time, weaknesses in equipment utilization can be identified, and reliable metrics for costing and bidding processes can be derived. This approach reduces the effort required for analysis and coordination on the construction site, accelerates decision-making processes, and creates a fact-based foundation for efficient specialist foundation engineering processes.

With this award, the Bavarian construction industry underscores the importance of data-driven solutions for future construction processes and recognizes BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH’s contribution to the further development of efficient and transparent organizational structures in specialist foundation engineering.
